Beetroot Muttabel Recipe – Healthy Moutabel Recipe
Beetroot Muttabel is a different version of traditional muttabel. Muttabel is traditionally made with brinjal (Vazhuthananga). View my video on making traditional muttabel.
However some doctors say that brinjol is not good for patients with skin allergies. Since I am one among them I tried beetroot which is considered to be good for skin. It turned out supper tasty. Try it!

- Beetroot : 1 big beetroot skin peeled
- Tahina (Sesame seed paste): 1/4 cup
- Garlic : 2 cloves
- Olive oil: 1 tbsp
- Thick yogurt: 2 tbsp
- Any Nuts (pistachio or cashew nut): 5 nos
- Lime juice: 1 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Mint leaves: for garnishing
Boil peeled beetroot until cooked. Cool and cut into big pieces.
Grind all other ingredients together (exclude mint) and your tasty muttabel is ready to serve.
Garnish with olive oil and mint leaves.
