Clean and cut the chicken into small pieces.
Heat a pressure cooker and add chicken with salt and 1/2 tsp pepper powder. Cook this for 4 whistle. Once cooked, shred the chicken using a mixer.
Heat coconut oil in a pan and add chopped onion, ginger garlic paste, green chillies and saute well on a low flame.
Add turmeric powder, red chilly powder, 1/2 pepper powder, garam masala and coriander powder into it and mix well.
Add the shredded chicken, curry leaves and salt into it. Mix well and cook for 3 minutes. Chicken masala is ready.
Take an empty coconut shell, the part which has eyes, scrape off the inside remaining with a spoon, rinse in water. There are three eyes in the coconut, poke the flimsy eye with a spoon.
Put the small steel plate with holes, inside the chiratta puttu maker mould. Add a tablespoon of grated coconut. Then add chicken masala and 4 tbsp of rice flour. Again layer with grated coconut, chicken masala and puttu powder.
Heat water in a pressure cooker and when the steam starts coming out, place the coconut shell on the top of the nozzle of the pressure cooker and keep a napkin as a lid for the shell. Let it steam for 6 minutes on a medium flame.
When steam comes from the top of the coconut shell, keep for 2 minutes. Switch off the flame. Remove it from the pressure cooker and keep it for 2 minutes in the mould itself and then remove.
