Chicken Ring Samosa Recipe

Chicken Ring Samosa is an easy and tasty snack and it is a good starter recipe too. Chicken masala wrapped in a dough and fried till crispy, The outside layer is crispy with the delicious chicken masala inside.

The health benefits of chicken include its good supply of protein content, and essential vitamins and minerals, its benefits in losing weight, its ability to control cholesterol and blood pressure, and reduced risk of cancer.  Since selenium is present in good quantities, consuming chicken would mean increase in metabolism rates especially the thyroid hormone, antioxidant defense system and immune function of the body.

Ingredients

  • For dough: - Maida - 300 gm
  • Water - 100 ml
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • For filling : - Chicken pieces - 250 gm
  • Onion - 2 nos (chopped)
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
  • Green chilies - 2 nos
  • Red chilly powder - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Pepper powder - 1 tsp
  • Garam masala - 1/4 tsp
  • Coriander leaves - few (chopped)
  • Curry leaves - few (chopped)
  • Water - 50 ml
  • Coconut oil - 4 tsp
  • Vegetable oil - 2 cup ( 200 ml )
  • Salt to taste

Method

Step 1

Clean and wash chicken well.

Step 2

Heat a pressure cooker and add the chicken pieces along with 1/2 teaspoon chilly powder, 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder, 50 ml of water and salt. Cook for 2 whistle.

Step 3

Once the chicken is done, switch off the flame and let it cool. Shred the chicken and keep aside.

Step 4

Heat 4 tsp of coconut oil in a pan and add curry leaves, green chilly, ginger garlic paste, chopped onion and saute well until onion become light brown.

Step 5

Then add pepper powder, red chilly powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder to it. Saute for a minute or until the raw smell goes.

Step 6

Then add boiled and shredded chicken into it and saute until the chicken become dry and well mixed with the onion masala.

Step 7

Add garam masala, coriander leaves, salt and mix well. Switch off the flame and keep masala aside.

Step 8

Take a bowl and add maida, salt, oil, water and knead well to make a soft dough. By using this dough, make small sized balls ( lemon sized ).

Step 9

Roll this balls in the shape of chapatis. Take a bottle cap and press the center of the chapatis. Place 1 tbsp chicken masala around it, press the edges and shape it like a ring.

Step 10

Heat vegetable oil in a pan and fry the chicken ring samosa until golden brown. Switch off the flame. Drain the excess oil with a tissue paper. Crunchy Chicken Ring Samosa is ready.
