Chilly Chicken – Chinese Side Dish Recipe – ചില്ലി ചിക്കൻ
Chilly Chicken is a popular Indo-Chinese starter or appetizer. It is a delicious and spicy boneless recipe that you can prepare easily at home. Try out this lip smacking dish.
Chicken in almost any form is great for your health. It is a great source of lean and low fat protein. It is quite interesting to know that it can prevent Osteoporosis or Arthritis during senior years. It is also rich in phosphorus which helps to maintain strong teeth and bones.
- Chicken (boneless) - 250 g
- Egg - 1no
- Maida - 1/2 cup
- Corn Flour - 3 tbsp
- Ginger - 1 tbsp (chopped)
- Garlic - 1 tbsp (chopped)
- Green Chilly - 3 nos
- Capsicum - 1 large (cut into cubes)
- Onion - 2 medium (cut in to cubes)
- Schezwan Sauce - 1 tsp
- Green Chilly Sauce - 1 tsp
- Soya Sauce - 1 tsp
- Tomato Sauce - 1 tbsp
- White Pepper Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Sunflower Oil - for frying
- Water - 1 cup
- Orange Colour - one pinch
- Celery - 2 tbsp (chopped)
- Salt to taste
Take an egg in a bowl and beat it.
Add maida, white pepper powder, salt, soya sauce, schezwan sauce, cornflour and little bit of water into it and mix all these things well to make a batter.
Add all the chicken pieces into the batter.
Take a pan, heat up the oil and deep fry the chicken pieces. Keep it aside.
Take another pan and add oil and heat it. Add ginger and garlic into it and fry until it becomes golden brown.
Add onion, capsicum, green chilly into it and fry for 3 minutes.
Add all fried chicken pieces into this pan.
Add salt, soya sauce, schezwan sauce, green chilly sauce, orange red colour, tomato sauce, and white pepper powder into it and mix well.
Take cornflour in a bowl and add little water and mix well. Add this diluted cornflour to the chicken mixture and mix it well.
Switch off the flame.
Yummy Chilly Chicken is ready.
