These classic sugar cookies will instantly evoke my warm Christmas memories. Homemade Christmas cookies can be the best gift you can give your friends during the festive season.
My mom’s close friend made these cookies and gifted us during Christmas when I was 8 or 9 years old. The Christmas father fascinated me so much that for all Christmas we make these cookies at home.
The sugar cookies are very simple to make and can be made in microwave within minutes!!!
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs beaten
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
- 2 2/3 cup flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
Decoration: Writing Icing in different colors
Soften butter by microwaving for 15 seconds in microwave.
Gradually add sugar to butter and stir continuously to make butter cream.
Beat in eggs and vanilla essence to butter cream until fluffy.
Toss flour, baking powder and salt to mix. Add this to creamed mixture and combine well.
The dough should be somewhat the consistency of Pizza dough or Chapathi dough.
Chill dough 1 hour until firm.
Roll out to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut in heart shape and tree shape.
Arrange cookies in a Cake baking tray after dusting with little flour.
Please take care to leave I/2 inch space between the cookies because once the cookies get baked they will lump.
Cook 1 1/2 minutes in microwave option. If you feel that more crispiness is required microwave for 20 seconds each.
Allow to cool.
Once the cookies are cool, draw Christmas designs with writing icing on cookies appropriately.
Allow icing to dry and set on cookies.
Now your Christmas Cookies are ready to eat.
Happy Christmas to all!!!
