Gobi Manchurian / Cauliflower Manchurian is a thick gravy recipe made with Chinese sauce. Usually the dish is eaten with fried rice or noodles. But Gobi Manchurian tastes good with chapathi and appam (a kind of rice pancake made as breakfast item in south India and Sri Lanka).
You can use capsicum and spring onion to add the flavor of the gravy.
Given below is my style high speed  🙂 recipe with less ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Cauliflower cut into cubes
  • To make the batter to fry the cauliflower :
  • 1 Egg (to make eggless batter use 1/4 cup corn flour)
  • 1/4 cup Maida
  • 2 tsps of Ginger garlic paste
  • 1tsp - Kashmiri chilly powder
  • 10 tbsp Water
  • Salt to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • To make the gravy :
  • 1 tbsp Ginger finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp Garlic chopped
  • 1 Onion cut into cubes
  • 2 Green chillies cut into half
  • 3 tbsp Tomato sauce
  • 1 tbsp Soya sauce
  • 1 tbsp Chilli sauce
  • 1/4 tbsp Food color mixed in 6 spoons of water (Optional)
  • Salt to taste

Method

Step 1

Make a thick batter by mixing all the batter items.

Step 2

Add cauliflower to the batter and marinate for 1/2 an hour.

Step 3

Fry the cauliflower with the batter and keep aside.

Step 4

In the oil in which the cauliflower is batter fried sauté ginger-garlic paste and onion till the onion become translucent.

Step 5

At this stage you can add capsicum also if you want to.

Step 6

Then add sauce one by one and mix well. Add the fried cauliflower and green chilli's to this.

Step 7

Mix well and add food color dissolved in water.

Step 8

If you want more gravy, mix 2 spoons of corn flour in water and pour to the gravy and mix well.

Step 9

As a final step check the salt and adjust according to taste. Yummy Gopi Manchurian (cauliflower) is ready to serve. You can garnish with spring onions as per availability.
