Honey Shrimp (Prawns) / Delicious Prawns Recipe / Easy Side Dish
Prawns are a great source of protein, important vitamins and minerals that make up a healthy diet. Prawns are rich in omega 3 fatty acids which are good for our heart. Fatty acids are also helpful in fighting against diseases like Dementia and Alzheimers. Also it helps to build strong bones since it contain good amount of copper, phosphorous and magnesium.
- Shrimp / Prawns - 1/2 kg
- All Purpose Flour / Maida - 3 tbsp
- Corn Flour - 4 tbsp
- Pepper Powder - 1 tsp
- Egg Yolk - 1 no
- Water - 3 tbsp
- Garlic - 3 large cloves (chopped)
- Ginger - 1/2 inch piece (chopped)
- Soya Sauce - 1 tsp
- Tomato Ketchup - 1 tbsp
- Red Chilli Sauce - 2 tsp
- Vinegar - 1/2 tsp
- Lemon Juice - 1/2 tsp
- Spring Onion - 2 tbsp (chopped)
- Honey - 3 tbsp
- Sunflower Oil - 1 cup
- Salt to taste
Take the shrimps (peeled and deveined) and wash well with water.
Take a bowl and add all purpose flour, 3 tbsp of corn flour, pepper powder, egg yolk, water, salt and mix well.
Add cleaned shrimps into it and marinate for about 20 minutes.
Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the marinated shrimps. Put this on a paper towel to drain the excess oil and keep it aside.
In the same pan, heat 3 tbsp of oil and add chopped spring onion, garlic, ginger and cook for 3 minutes.
Add tomato ketchup, red chilli sauce, soya sauce, vinegar and lime juice into it and mix well. Cook this for another 3 minutes.
Mix corn flour with 2 tbsp of water and add it to the above sauce and cook for 2 minutes or until the sauce starts to thicken.
Add the fried shrimp into it and mix well. Finally add honey and mix everything in such a way that the prawns are well coated with the sauce.
Switch off the flame.
Tasty Honey Shrimp is ready.
