Passion Fruit French Toast is a simple, quick and delicious evening snack that everyone will love. This is prepared by soaking bread in passion fruit, milk and egg mixture and cooked until golden colour.
Passion Fruit is an aromatic fruit with a slight sweet and tangy taste. When ripe they are yellow or purple in color depending on the variety. Passion fruit contains high amount of Vitamin A and Vitamin C, both are strong anti-oxidants. It protects from free radicals damage, prevents premature aging, protects against cancer and keeps your immune system strong. High potassium content with almost no sodium makes Passion fruit highly effective in protecting from high blood pressure
Passion fruit is an intriguing and mysterious fruit that has a surprising number of health and medicinal benefits. It helps to prevent Cancer, Asthma, heart related problems, blood pressure etc. Passion fruit has citric and malic acid, which makes it taste acidic. Nearly 15% of the fruit is made of sugars like glucose, sucrose, fructose and the combination of these sugars with the acids give a unique taste and acts as a preservative. Passion fruit is good in vitamin C, providing about 30 mg per 100 g. Vitamin-C is a powerful water soluble anti-oxidant. The vitamin A in the tangy fruit prevents the risk of Cataract, Night Blindness and other eye related problems.
French toast is more commonly known as Bread Roast in Kerala. French toast means bread dipped in a mixture of beaten egg, milk and fried on both sides. Try out this yummy French toast at home.
- Passion fruit - 3 nos
- Bread slices - 4 nos
- Egg - 1 no
- Milk - 50 ml
- Butter - 3 tbsp
- Sugar - 4 tbsp
Cut passion fruit into half and scoop out the flesh gently.
Take a bowl and add milk, passion fruit flesh, egg, sugar and mix well.
Heat a pan and melt butter over medium heat.
Dip both sides of the bread in the egg passion fruit milk mixture and place it on the pan.
Fry the bread pieces on a low flame till both sides are brown. Switch off the flame.
Yummy Passion Fruit French Toast is ready.
