Prawns Roast Recipe | ചെമ്മീൻ റോസ്റ്റ്
Prawns Roast Recipe is a very delicious and tasty dish. It is a dry gravy dish which can be served with rice, chappati, parotta etc. It is indeed a mouth watering dish.
This is a little spicy dish. You can reduce the spiciness if you prefer not much spicy. Mind to use fresh prawns as seafood is always tastes good when it is bought fresh and cook. The gambooge (Kudampuli) gives a nice flavor and taste to the dish.

Tips: To remove the odour from your hands after cleaning the prawns, apply lemon juice on your hands and wash.
- Cleaned prawns - 250 gm
- Onion - 2 nos (chopped)
- Ginger paste - 1 tsp
- Garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
- Green chilly - 3 (chopped)
- Red chilly powder - 1 tsp
- Coriander powder - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
- Gambooge (Kudampuli) - 1 small piece
- Coconut oil - 1/2 cup
- Curry leaves - a few
- Salt to taste
- Hot water - 2 cups
Wash and clean the prawns.
Heat coconut oil in a pan and add finely sliced onions. Cook till the onions turns brown.
Add ginger and garlic paste and chopped green chilies. Cook for a few minutes. Add sliced tomatoes, salt and curry leaves.
When tomato is cooked, add red chilly powder, coriander powder, and turmeric powder. Saute it well.
Add 2 cups of hot water to this. When it boils, add prawns, gambooge and mix well.
Cover and cook in a low flame for 10 minutes. Cook till the prawns are done and the gravy is almost dried.
After 10 minutes, add pepper powder and mix well. Switch off the flame.
Tasty Prawns Roast is ready.
