Ingredients

  • Plain flour - 250 gm
  • Baking powder - 1 tspn
  • Butter - 250 gm
  • Powdered sugar - 250 gm
  • Egg yolk - 4
  • Egg whites - 4
  • Vanila essence -1 tspn
  • Sugar - 1 tbsp

Method

Step 1

Sieve all purpose flour and baking powder.

Step 2

Beat the egg whites separately till it forms a soft peak. Add vanilla essence and sugar to this and keep it aside.

Step 3

Beat well the butter and powdered sugar with electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add flour and milk alternatively to this and beat well.

Step 4

Add egg yolks one by one to this and mix well.

Step 5

Add egg white mixture to this mixture and fold in.

Step 6

Preheat oven at 200 degree for 10 minutes before baking. Prepare a square shaped cake tin for baking.

Step 7

Pour the batter to the cake tin and bake at 200 degree for first 10 minutes and 180 degree for another 30 minutes.

Step 8

Tasty Tea cake is ready. Serve it with hot tea or coffee.
