Chilly Potato Recipe – Easy Potato Recipe- ചില്ലി പൊട്ടറ്റോ
Chilly Potato is a simple, tasty and quick side dish. The potatoes are usually cut in lengthwise into finger shapes. Deep fried potato fingers cooked with onion, ginger, garlic, green chilly and sauce.
Potatoes are packed with powerful nutrients and antioxidants. They are good source of vitamins C and B 6, niacin, pantothenic acid, phosphorus and manganese. It helps to reduce cholesterol levels, boost heart health, manage Diabetes, prevent Cancer, strengthen the immune system, reduce blood pressure, boost eye health, reduce Insomnia etc. They also contain adequate amounts of many essential minerals like Iron, Phosphorous, Magnesium, Manganese, Potassium and Copper.
Try out this yummy dish at home.
- Potatoes - 2 nos
- Green chilly - 3 nos ( chopped )
- Ginger - 1 small piece ( chopped )
- Garlic - 3 cloves ( chopped )
- Onion - 1 nos ( cubed )
- Capsicum - 1/2 piece ( cubed )
- Soya sauce -1 tsp
- Tomato sauce - 2 tbsp
- Vinegar - 1 tbsp
- Chilly sauce - 1/2 tsp
- Sugar - 1/4 tsp
- Corn flour - 4 tsp
- Pepper powder - 3/4 tsp
- Water - 4 1/4 cup ( 1 cup = 255 ml )
- Vegetable oil - 200 ml
- Spring onion - 2 stem ( chopped )
- Salt to taste
Clean, peel the skin and cut the potatoes into thick pieces.
Heat 4 cups of water in a bowl. Add salt, potato pieces into it and boil for 2 minutes.
Drain the potatoes and keep it aside.
Take a bowl and add 3 1/2 tsp of corn flour, 1/2 tsp of pepper powder, salt and mix it well with a spoon.
Add the drained potato pieces in the flour mix.
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry the potatoes. Keep it aside.
Take another pan and add 3 tsp of oil and heat it. Add chopped ginger and garlic into it and fry for 3 minutes.
Add onion, capsicum, spring onion, green chilly into it and fry for 3 minutes.
Add soya sauce, tomato sauce, chilly sauce, sugar, vinegar and mix well.
Take 1/2 tsp of cornflour in a bowl and add 1/4 cup of water and mix well. Add this diluted cornflour to this and mix it well.
Add all fried potato pieces into this and mix well. Add 1/4 tsp of pepper powder, salt mix gently making sure the sauces are coated well to potatoes.
Switch off the flame. Decorate with spring onion.
Yummy Chilly Potato is ready.
