Nellipuli is also called star gooseberry. 100 gram of star gooseberry has about 28 calorie. The fruit is acid and astringent and root is purgative and seed is cathartic. It is candied in sugar or pickled in salt, used in chutney, relish or preserves.

- Nellipuli / Star Gooseberry - 10 nos
- Grated coconut - 1 cup ( 200 gm )
- Shallots - 4 nos
- Ginger - 1/2 inch piece
- Green chilly - 4 nos
- Curry leaves - 5 nos
- Salt to taste
Wash and clean nellipuli and remove the seeds and cut into small pieces.
Take a blender and add nelli puli, grated coconut, ginger, green chillies, shallots, curry leaves and salt. Blend this for 5 minutes without adding water to it.
Tasty Nellipuli Chammanthi is ready.
