Thari Kanji / Thari Kachiyathu / Rava Payasam is one of my favorite Iftar Dish. My daughter says the best Thari Kanji / Thari Kachiyathu / Rava Payasam is made by her mom!!!

Its written that the dish is supposed to settle the stomach and It also eases the cramps that arise from the sudden rush of food after a day of abstinence from any food and water.
- To make 1 glass of Thari Kanji :
- 1 glass milk
- 2 tbsp Semolina
- 2 tbsp Sugar (Add more to sweeten more)
- Pinch of salt
- For seasoning:
- Ghee - 1/2 tbsp
- Very finely chopped shallots - 1
- 2 cashew-nuts made half
- Dry grapes - 3 nos
Boil milk and add semolina to milk and cook until semolina is cooked. Add sugar and a pinch of salt. Switch off the flame.
For seasoning: Fry cashew nuts and dry grapes in ghee and keep aside.
In the same ghee sauté shallots until golden brown.
Pour golden brown shallots along with ghee and fried cashew-nuts and dry grapes to milk mixture. Traditionally hot Thari Kanji / Thari Kachiyathu / Rava Payasam is served hot. But the dish tastes yummy if chilled also. Enjoy!!!
