Grape Jam or Munthiri Jam ( കറുത്ത മുന്തിരി ജാം ) is very tasty and easy to make. A grape is a fruiting berry of the deciduous woody vines of the botanical genus Vitis.
Grapes can be eaten raw or they can be used for making wine, jam, juice, jelly, grape seed extract, raisins, vinegar, and grape seed oil.
Grapes are good source of vitamin-C, vitamin A, vitamin K, B-complex vitamins and 100 g fresh grapes just provide 69 calories but zero cholesterol levels.
Ingredients
Clean and separate each grape from the bunch. Heat a pressure cooker and add the grapes and 1 cup water to it.
If the pressure cooker makes 3 whistles, switch off the flame. Let the pressure cools down to open. After that pour these mixture in a blender and blend for 4 minutes. Strain the juice with a strainer. Heat a non stick pan and pour the grapes juice and keep stirring on medium heat. Add the sugar and mix well. Then add the lemon juice keep stirring for about 30 minutes. It will take about half an hour to get it thicken. Switch off the flame when you get the consistency of jam. When cooled, store in a clean air tight container. To test if jam is ready, take a glass of water and drop little jam. If it dissolves while going down, it is not yet ready. If it touches down in one piece and remains so, it is time to take off fire. Tasty home made grape jam is ready.Method
