Capsicum fry is one of the crunchy and spicy recipe. It can be used as a nalumani palaharam or as a teatime snack with a hot tea. It is very easy to prepare at home with easily available ingredients.ย Using capsicum can prepareย curries, juices and salads.

Capsicum can be used to add extra flavor and attractiveness to some dishes. But it has lots of other health benefits and fully packed with nutrients like Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, Vitamin K, dietary fiber etc. Using capsicum in dishes is good for eyes, hair, skin, good for anti aging, control cholesterol, prevention against cancer, protects from nose bleeding etc.

Capsicum fry recipe | Quick and easy recipe

Ingredients

  • Capsicum - 2 nos
  • Gram flour ( besan ) - 1 cup
  • Rice flour - 1 cup
  • Chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Baking powder - a pinch
  • Water - 3/4 cup
  • Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Vegetable oil - 2 cup ( for deep frying )

Method

Step 1

Clean and cut the capsicum into 1/2 cm thick rings.

Step 2

In a bowl mix gram flour, rice flour, asafoetida, salt, pepper powder, baking powder and chilly powder.

Step 3

Add water and mix well to make a smooth batter.

Step 4

Heat oil in a pan. Dip one capsicum ring into the batter and drop in the hot oil.

Step 5

Fry both sides till the rings become golden brown.

Step 6

Repeat the same process for all the capsicum rings.

Step 7

Capsicum fry is ready.

Step 8

Serve hot with sauce.
