Chia Seed Pudding Recipe / Homemade Poppy Seed Pudding / Black Kaskas (കസ്കസ്) Pudding is a delicious and healthy dessert. Simple, quick and tasty pudding that can be prepared within 15 minutes. The creamy Pudding is garnished with yummy strawberry jam.

Kaskas is a great source of omega-3 fatty acids, iron, calcium and zinc. It is rich in oleic acid which prevents against Breast Cancer. It also helps to lower blood cholesterol level and protect from cardiovascular diseases and heart attack.

These seeds are used as narcotics for pain related treatments. They are also used in treating Diarrhea, Insomnia and Asthma.

  • Chia Seed / Poppy Seed / Black Kaskas - 5 tbsp
  • Milk - 150 ml
  • Sugar - 1/2 tbsp
  • Vanilla Extract - 1/4 tsp
  • Milkmaid - 3 tbsp


Step 1

Take a bowl and add milk, chia seeds, sugar, vanilla extract and milkmaid. Mix it well and soak for 20 minutes. Stir the mixture every 10 minutes.

Step 2

Cover and refrigerate it overnight.

Step 3

Take 2 glasses, add chia seed mixture into it and decorate it with strawberry jam.

Step 4

Tasty and simple Chia Seed Pudding is ready.
