Chicken Drumsticks Fry Recipe – ചിക്കൻ ഫ്രൈ  – Tasty Chicken Fry

Chicken drumstick fry is a popular starter among non-vegetarians. It is marinated with aromatic spices and deep fried in oil. Chicken legs can be prepared in a number of ways – poached, grilled, sauteed, pan-fried, roasted or even baked – and cook beautifully with milk. Drumsticks cook faster than other chicken parts and are easy to make at home.

This is a tasty and crunchy Indian appetizer or side dish.The fresh chicken legs must be marinated with these spices paste and refrigerated for at least 3 hours. Chicken legs also offer some benefits because of their vitamin content. They supply ample amounts of vitamin B-12 a vitamin important for nerve cell health and regulation over gene activity as well as pantothenic acid, a nutrient that promotes healthy cell metabolism.

Ingredients

  • Chicken legs - 2 nos
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
  • Red chilly powder - 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Lemon juice - 1 tsp
  • Curd - 2 tsp
  • Garam masala - 1/4 tsp
  • Curry Leaves - a few
  • Coconut oil - 200 ml
  • Salt to taste

Method

Step 1

Clean and wash the chicken legs. Put slits in the chicken pieces.

Step 2

Take a bowl add ginger garlic paste, red chilly powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder, garam masala, lemon juice, curd, salt and mix well.

Step 3

Add the chicken pieces to the prepared paste and marinate well. Set aside for 30 minutes.

Step 4

Heat coconut oil in a pan and fry the chicken pieces, curry leaves in medium flame.

Step 5

When chicken is fried remove the chicken pieces to a kitchen tissue and allow to drain all excess oil. Switch off the flame.

Step 6

Yummy Chicken Fry is ready. Serve hot with onion rings and a dash of lemon juice.
