Chicken Pottitherichathu Recipe

Chicken Pottitherichathu is a quick, spicy and delicious evening snack that can be prepared very easily. This is an absolute treat for the chicken lovers.

Chicken pieces are marinated and coated with samosa sheet and deep fried. You can serve this as a snack, starter, Nombuthura or Iftar dish for Ramadan.

Chicken in almost any form is great for your health. It is a great source of lean and low fat protein. Chicken is not only a good source of protein but also very rich in vitamins and minerals.

  • Bone less chicken - 250 gm
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
  • Lemon juice - 1 tsp
  • Garam masala powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Red chilly powder - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Samosa sheet - 5 nos
  • Egg - 1 no
  • Maida - 4 tsp
  • Vegetable oil - 250 ml
  • Bamboo skewers - 5 nos
  • Salt to taste


Step 1

Clean and cut the chicken into strips.

Step 2

Take a bowl and add ginger garlic paste, garam masala powder, red chilly powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder, lemon juice, salt and mix well.

Step 3

Add chicken pieces into it and marinate the chicken pieces well and keep this in the refrigerator for 1 hour.

Step 4

After 1 hour, add egg and maida into it and mix well.

Step 5

Cut the samosa sheet into small pieces.

Step 6

Take the chicken from marinade and thread the chicken through wooden skewers. Roll this chicken through the samosa sheet.

Step 7

Heat vegetable oil in a pan and fry the chicken until golden brown and crispy. Switch off the flame. Drain the excess oil with a tissue paper.

Step 8

Tasty Chicken Pottitherichathu is ready.
