French Toast is a simple, quick and delicious evening snack that everyone will love. French toast means bread dipped in a mixture of beaten egg, milk and fried on both sides. French toast is world popular breakfast.
White bread is fortified with calcium and four medium slices per day would provide over 30% of the recommended daily intake of calcium which we need every day to maintain healthy bones and teeth. Bread, especially wholemeal, is an important source of dietary fiber which helps to keep our digestive system healthy, helps control blood sugar and cholesterol levels and makes us feel fuller for longer.
Eggs are high in cholesterol, but eating eggs does not adversely affect cholesterol in the blood for the majority of people. Eggs are a useful source of Vitamin D which helps to protect bones, preventing osteoporosis and rickets.
Try out this yummy French toast at home.
- Bread - 4 slice
- Eggs - 2 nos
- Milk - 200 ml
- Sugar - 4 tsp
- Butter - 3 tsp
- Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
Take a bowl and add milk, egg, vanilla essence, sugar and mix well.
Heat a pan and melt butter over medium heat.
Dip both sides of the bread in the milk mixture and place it on the pan.
Fry the bread pieces on a low flame till both sides are brown. Switch off the flame.
Yummy French Toast is ready.
