Fried Chicken Momos is a famous North Eastern snack recipe. It is a famous street food that is first steamed and then fried and served with red chilly chutney. These fried chicken momos are so simple to make and are great as a hot snack with sweet and hot chili sauce.
This dish is a type of dumpling and mainly relished as a main course by Tibetans. Minced chicken marinated in aromatic spices and stuffed in flour wrap and steamed. It is an amazing dish to munch on.
Traditionally cooked momos are dumplings filled with a choice of spiced minced meat or vegetables and then steamed or fried as per choice.

Ingredients
- For Dough: - Maida - 1 1/2 cup ( 200 gm )
- Water - 1/2 cup ( 100 ml )
- Vegetable oil - 3 tbsp
- Salt to taste
- For Filling : - Onion - 2 nos ( chopped )
- Chicken - 400 gm
- Garlic - 3 cloves ( chopped )
- Green chilly - 3 nos ( chopped )
- Coriander leaves - 2 tbsp ( chopped )
- Soya sauce - 1 tsp
- Pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
- Vegetable oil - 200 ml
- Salt to taste
Method
Step 1
Take a bowl and add all purpose flour ( maida ), salt, 2 tbsp of oil, water and knead well to make a soft dough. Cover it with a cloth and keep it aside for 30 minutes.
Step 2
For chicken keema or minced chicken, add the chicken pieces into mixer grinder and grind it for 3 minutes. Chicken keema is ready.
Step 3
In another bowl add chicken mince, onions, garlic, green chilly, coriander leaves, soya sauce, salt, oil and mix well.
Step 4
By using the dough, make small sized balls. Roll this balls in the shape of chapati. Then take any glass of round corners and press it on the pressed dough to make many small circles.
Step 5
Place the stuffing at the center and wet the edges with water. Fold the edges towards the center.
Step 6
Heat an appa chembu or a steamer and brush it slightly with oil. Place momos in a steamer and steam for about 10 minutes on medium flame. After 10 minutes, switch off the flame. Open the steamer after 5 minutes. Chicken momos is ready.
Step 7
Heat vegetable oil in a pan and fry the steamed chicken momos until golden brown. Switch off the flame. Drain the excess oil with a tissue paper.
Step 8
Yummy Fried Chicken Momos are ready.
