Gulab Jamun Sweet is very tasty dessert and you can enjoy the taste after a good meal. Gulab Jamun is a favorite sweet for both the adults and children.

It is popular in countries of the South Asia. This dessert is prepared from a dough of flour, milk powder, milk, ghee, water and baking powder. The dough is formed into small balls that are fried and then dip into the  warm sugar syrup. It can be eaten with syrup or without syrup. It is served with cream in winter and with ice cream in summer.

One of the main ingredient of  Gulab Jamun is milk hence it is rich in calcium also high in sodium, carbohydrates, proteins. Gulab Jamun Sweet is uually used in festivals like Diwali and Ganesh Chaturthi. This Sweet recipe is very simple and easy to prepare and the ingredients are easily available in our nearby supermarkets.

Ingredients

  • Milk powder – 1 cup
  • All purpose flour – 1/2 cup
  • Sugar – 1 cup
  • Water – 2 cup
  • Baking soda – 1/4 tsp
  • Ghee – 3tsp
  • Milk - 1/2 cup
  • Cardamom – 2 crushed
  • Rose water – 1 tsp
  • Vegetable oil - 3 cup

Method

Step 1

How to make the syrup for Gulab Jamun Sweet Recipe: 1) Mix sugar and water in a wide vessel and keep in a low flame. 2) Once the sugar is completely melted add the cardamom powder, rose water and keep in very low flame. 3) Stir the syrup in between. When the sugar syrup is ready, keep the syrup in warm.

Step 2

Then Mix milk powder, all purpose flour and baking soda. Make a dough by gradually adding milk. Knead properly to get a smooth dough.

Step 3

Cover it with a damp cloth and keep for 15 minutes.

Step 4

Apply little ghee and make small lemon sized balls from the dough. The ball must be small since it will double in size while frying.

Step 5

And heat vegetable oil in a pan first at high heat and then reduce to medium. Fry the balls in the vegetable oil.

Step 6

Stir the oil continuously so that the balls will get brown. Never fry the balls in high heat, since they will not get cooked inside.

Step 7

When the balls turn brown, transfer them directly into the warm sugar syrup. Close it with a lid.

Step 8

Tasty Gulab Jamun is ready.
