Homemade Butter Chicken Recipe – Ramadan Special Recipe – Authentic Recipe

I have tried many other recipes of butter chicken, but this recipe turned to best among them all. I would like to share the recipe with you. You can make delicious butter chicken at home and don’t have to rush to any restaurants any more. It will indeed satisfy your food carvings. It is preferable to use boneless chicken and is totally up to your choice.

Ingredients

  • Chicken - 500 gm
  • Lemon juice - 1 tbsp
  • Yogurt - 1/2 cup
  • Ginger garlic paste - 4 tsp
  • Red chilly powder - 1 tsp
  • Tandoori masala - 2 tsp
  • Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
  • Cardamom - 2 nos
  • Cinnamon stick - 1 piece
  • Bay leaf - 1
  • Green chilly - 3 nos (chopped)
  • Tomato puree - 1 cup
  • Unsalted butter - 3 tbsp
  • Dried methi leaves (kasoori methi) - 1 tbsp
  • Whipping cream - 1 cup
  • Cashew paste - 3 tsp
  • Onion - 2 nos (chopped)
  • Salt to taste
  • Coriander leaves - 1/4 cup
  • Water - 1 cup

Method

Step 1

Clean and cut the chicken to medium sized pieces and wash it well.

Step 2

In a bowl add lemon juice, 2 tbsp of ginger garlic paste, tandoori masala, red chilly powder, salt and yogurt. Add chicken pieces and marinate it well. Cover and refrigerate the chicken for 2 hours.

Step 3

Heat butter in a pan over medium heat. Add cardamom, cinnamon and bay leaf. Cook for 2 minutes. Add 2 tbsp ginger and garlic paste. Stir for 3 minutes.

Step 4

Add chopped onion, green chilly and saute for 5 minutes. Add salt, red chilly powder, garam masala, tomato puree and mix well.

Step 5

Allow it to boil and then lower the heat. Add the marinated chicken pieces, water, cashew paste and dried methi leaves and cook 10 minutes more. Check whether the chicken is properly cooked.

Step 6

If the chicken is cooked well, add whipping cream, coriander leaves and mix well and allow it to boil for 1 minute and switch off the flame. Add salt to taste.

Step 7

Tasty Butter Chicken is ready. Garnish with cream and coriander leaves.
