Pickles occupy an unavoidable space almost on every dining tables. For me, pickles reminds my childhood. My grandmother prepares a variety of tasty and mouthwatering pickles and we all are very fond of it. Here I am presenting Kerala Raw Jackfruit Pickle Recipe / ചക്ക അച്ചാർ / Chakka Achar Recipe and tried out my best to bring out the same taste and flavour as that of my grandmother’s pickle recipe.
You have to pick raw jackfruit for preparing this pickle. As we all know, it is a nice accompaniment with rice and even with rotis. And what to say, a nice side dish for kanji (കഞ്ഞി, rice porridge).
Use gingelly oil for preparing pickles. Try to preserve pickles in clean glass jars, as it will keep the pickle to stay fresh longer.

Ingredients
Clean the jack fruit slices, remove the seed and chop into small pieces. Heat sesame oil in a pan and shallow fry raw jackfruit, garlic, green chilly and chopped ginger for 5 minutes. Remove from the oil and keep it aside. In the same oil, splutter mustard seeds. Add kashmiri red chilly powder, curry leaves and stir on low flame for 2 minutes.
Add raw jackfruit, garlic, chopped ginger, green chilly, vinegar and salt. Add asafoetida powder, fenugreek powder and saute for 3 minutes. Switch off the flame.
Tasty Raw Jackfruit Pickle is ready.Method
