Mackerel fish Curry

Ingredients

  1. 1/2 Kg Mackeral or Ayila Fish
  2. 1 medium onion
  3. 1 Small Tomoato
  4. 2 nos Green Chili
  5. 1 lemon size Tamarind
  6. 1/2 tbsp Mustard seeds
  7. 4 nos Fenugreek
  8. 2 springs Curry leaves
  9. 1 cup Coconut
  10. 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  11. 1 tsp Chilli Powder
  12. 1 1/2 tsp Coriander Powder
  13. 1/4 tsp salt
  14. 2 tbsp oil

Preparation method 

1.
Grind the coconut along with turmeric powder, Chilli powder and Coriander powder into a smooth paste.

Heat oil and add mustard seeds. When they splutter add the fenugreek seeds.

Add the onions . When they become brown  add the green chilli’s and  tomatoes.

Then add the ground paste and mix well. Add the tamarind juice.Then add the canned mackeral and salt and mix well. Add 1/2 cup of water and  the mackeral . Then only the masala will get into the fish.
5.
Add curry leaves and close with a lid and allow it to cook for 15 -20 min .
