Maida Burfi Recipe

Maida Burfi Recipe is a very easy, quick yummy sweet. It requires very little ghee unlike other sweets, and that’s the best part of this yummy sweet recipe. All purpose flour with very few ingredients are used to makes this sweet.

This recipe is perfect for beginners who are new to sweet making, and for those who are running out of time, as most of the process is done off the stove. Even when you have sudden guests, this burfi can be prepared quickly with few simple ingredients and it tastes great, soft and it will just melt in your mouth. This is one of the most easiest Diwali sweet prepared with maida.

Ingredients

  • Maida / All purpose flour - 100 gram
  • Sugar - 150 gram
  • Ghee - 5 tsp
  • Water - 150 ml
  • Cardamom powder - 1/4 spoon
  • Food color - 1 pinch ( orange )
  • Badam - 5 nos ( chopped )

Method

Step 1

Heat ghee in a non stick pan, add maida and fry for 4 minutes on a low flame. Switch off the flame and keep aside.

Step 2

Heat water in a pan add sugar and allow the sugar to dissolve on medium flame. Stir well until the syrup turns sticky and single string consistency. Switch off the flame.

Step 3

Add cardamom powder, food colour and chopped badam to the sugar syrup and mix well.

Step 4

Now add maida to the sugar syrup and mix well with a spoon. Within 3 minutes the mixture will get thickened.

Step 5

Now pour this mixture onto the greased plate and smooth the top with a greased spoon then sprinkle chopped almonds,

Step 6

Allow it to cool and cut into desired shapes.

Step 7

Yummy Maida Burfi is ready.
