Thoran can be made with any vegetable or even mixing different vegetables. Here I am sharing a tasty and easy Onion Thoran recipe. You can make this so fast with less ingredients. We call it as a 10 minutes curry. Simple to make andย deliciousย to eat!!
Ingredients
- Big Onion - 4 thinly sliced
- Coconut Grated - 1/2 cup
- Salt
- Green Chilly - 3 finely chopped
- Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tspn
- Curry Leaves - 6
- Coconut Oil - 3 tbspn
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 tspn
- Water
Method
Step 1
Mix sliced onions, coconut, salt, green chilli and turmeric powder and keep it aside for 20 minutes.
Step 2
Heat oil in a pan and splutter some mustard seeds. Once spluttering is complete add the marinated onion mixture to this and saute well. Now sprinkle some water over it and cover with lid and allow to cook.
Step 3
After 10 minutes open the lid and check if the onion is cooked. Season with some coconut oil and curry leaves. Tasty Onion Thoran is ready. Serve with steamed rice.
