Ingredients
- Raw rice (Pachari) - 1/2 cup
- Milk - 6 cup
- Sugar - 2 cup
- Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
- Cashew nuts - 8 nos
- Raisins - 6 nos
- Ghee - 2 tsp
Method
Step 1
Wash the rice with water,drain and keep aside.
Step 2
Boil 4 cups of milk in a pressure cooker. Once the milk comes to a boil add the washed rice and sugar.
Step 3
Close the cooker with the weights on and cook in a very low flame for 20 minutes.
Step 4
After 20 minutes switch off the flame. Once the steam has come out of the cooker open it.
Step 5
Add the remaining milk and bring it to a boil.
Step 6
Close the cooker again with weights and cook for another 10 minutes in low flame.
Step 7
After 10 minutes switch off the flame and open the cooker. Add cardamom powder and mix well.
Step 8
Heat a pan add ghee and fry the cashew nuts and raisins and decorate it to the payasam.
Step 9
Tasty pal payasam ready to be served.
