One day when I was thinking about what special to cook today this palak biriyani recipe which I saw in Facebook came to my mind. I had never eaten nor have seen the dish earlier. But thought let me try in my way, THE EASY WAY! ?

Palak Biriyani Recipe – Easy Single Pot Biriyani – Healthy Veg Biryani Recipe

Thankfully, the biriyani came out good. My family loved it. Nowadays I make this as a special dish for parties.

Talking about the nutrition factors you all know that palak is rich in lot of diatory minerals, vitamins and fiber. So making a biriyani out of it is one of the excellent ideas to feed palak to children.

Above all, it can be made in single pot and so less vessels to wash!

Ingredients

  • 2 cup basmati rice
    (cleaned and soaked in water for 1 hour)
  • 1 & 1/2 cup hot water

  • To make masala:-
    4 cups palak finely chopped
    (you can use the stems also)
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tbsp garlic paste
  • 1/2 tbsp ginger paste
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 chopped tomato
  • Bunch of chopped coriander leaves
  • Bunch of chopped mint leaves
  • 1/2 cup yoghurt
  • 8 green chilli cut into two
  • 1/4 tbsp cumin seed
  • 1/2 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tbsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste

Method

Step 1

Heat a non-stick pan with a tight lid.

Step 2

Make masala by adding all ingredients listed in ingredients required to make masala one by one excluding Palak.

Step 3

Once all ingredients are mixed well add palak and cook for 5 minutes or untill palak become translucent.

Step 4

Then add drained rice followed by hot water to gravy.

Step 5

Close the vessel with the lid and keep on slow flame untill rice is cooked and all water evaporates.

Step 6

Then its time to serve your nutritional biriyani which is Palak Biriyani or single pot biriyani.
