Pomegranate – One of the oldest known fruits, found in writings and artifacts of many cultures and religions, the pomegranate or punica granatum is an original native of Persia. This nutrient dense, antioxidant rich fruit has been revered as a symbol of health, fertility and eternal life.
Compounds found only in pomegranates called punicalagins are shown to benefit the heart and blood vessels. Punicalagins are the major component responsible for pomegranate’s antioxidant and health benefits. They not only lower cholesterol, but also lower blood pressure and increase the speed at which heart blockages (atherosclerosis) melt away.
The pomegranate juice can be very sweet or sour depending on the quality of seeds. It can be easily prepared at home by following simple steps.

Ingredients
- Pomegranates - 3 nos
- Lemon juice - 2 tbsp
- Sugar - 3 tbsp
- Water - 2 cups
- Ice cubes - 3 nos
- Grape juice - 1 cup
Method
Step 1
Take out seeds of pomegranate and grind in a mixer, adding water and sugar.
Step 2
Pass the juice through a sieve so that the small remains of the hard seeds get removed.
Step 3
Add lemon juice and grape juice and mix well. Take a glass pour the juice and add icecubs.
Step 4
The delicious pomegranate juice is ready to be served.
