Rava Vada / Kerala Homemade Snack Recipe / റവ വട is an easy and tasty snack which is very popular in South India. It is an absolutely crunchy and delicious evening snack.
Semolina / Rava / Suji is widely used to prepare sweets, desserts etc. It is rich in trace minerals like phosphorus, magnesium and zinc which are essential for muscles, bones and nerves. It helps to boost immune system and also good for Diabetics. Rava Kanji is a diet food which is good for toddlers during fever.
- Rava - 1 cup
- Rice Flour - 1/2 cup
- Curd - 1/2 cup
- Onion - 2 nos (chopped)
- Green Chilly - 6 nos (chopped)
- Cumin Seed - 1 tsp
- Water - 1/4 cup
- Curry Leaves - 2 strings
- Vegetable Oil - 2 cup
- Salt to taste
Take a bowl and add rava, rice flour and curd. Mix it well and keep aside for 2 hours.
Now add green chillies, onions, cumin seeds, curry leaves, salt and mix it well.
Check the batter and add little water if required to bring it to the consistency of vada mix.
Heat vegetable oil in a pan.
Make vadas of desired shape and size with batter and deep fry it in oil. To remove the excess oil, put vadas on a paper towel.
Enjoy hot Rava Vada with tomato sauce.
