Soya Chunks Fry is a healthy and tasty snack. Soya Chunks are a good source of protein, calcium, omega 3 fatty acid and fiber. Eating soya products should be a part of a balanced diet and should be in moderation. It is known for its high protein content.ย Itโ€™s a good source of minerals namely manganese, iron and magnesium.

Soya beans are a high source of proteins and polyunsaturated fats and also are the only legumes that provide ample amount of omega-3 fatty acid.ย Due to good fiber content, it helps you keep a close check on your body weight and fight diabetes. Soy protein contains all the amino acids needed for the body. It is an excellent replacement for meat-based proteins. Animal proteins are generally higher in saturated fats.

Ingredients

  • Soya chunks - 200 gm
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
  • Red chilly powder - 2 tsp
  • Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves - 2 sprig
  • Coriander leaves - a handful
  • Rice flour - 5 tbsp
  • Water - 400 ml
  • Vegetable oil - 300 ml
  • Salt to taste

Method

Step 1

Heat 400 ml of water and a pinch salt in a pan and bring to boil.

Step 2

Add soya chunks into it and switch off the flame. Cover with a lid and leave it aside for 20 minutes. Drain it in a colander and wash it with cold water. Now squeeze of the extra water with your hands.

Step 3

Take a blender and add cooked soya chunks and make them into a coarse puree.

Step 4

Now add ginger garlic paste, red chilly powder, garam masala powder, salt, coriander leaves, curry leaves, rice flour and grind again to a coarse mix.

Step 5

Take it in a bowl and divide into small balls.

Step 6

Heat vegetable oil in a pan and fry these balls till it turns golden brown. Switch off the flame.

Step 7

Drain the excess oil with a tissue paper.

Step 8

Tasty Soya Chunks Fry is ready.
