Lime is a good source of Potassium and Vitamin C. It also contains traces of essential minerals such as manganese, copper, iron and calcium.  Mint is one of the oldest and most popular herbs that is grown around the world. It is well known for its medicinal use to aid digestion.

The recipe I am going to share is a simple drink made of lime, sugar and mint. You must try this refreshing cooler at your home.

Ingredients

  • Large sprigs of fresh mint leaves - 6 nos
  • Lime - 4 nos
  • Sugar - 1/4 cup
  • Soda - 1 bottle
  • Green food colour - 1 drop
  • Ice cubes - 10
  • Green chilly - 2 nos (chopped)

Method

Step 1

Remove the mint leaves from the sprigs and clean with water.

Step 2

Cut 5-6 thin round slices from the lime. Make sure to remove the seeds. Add the mint leaves and the sweet lime slices in large bowl and muddle them with a wooden spoon.

Step 3

Add sugar, chopped green chillies, food colour and squeeze the juice from the rest of the limes and mix well.

Step 4

Take a large glass fill half the glass with ice cubes and top it up with soda. And serve immediately, before you loose the fizz.

Step 5

Caribean Slush is ready to be served.
