Aval Payasam is a yummy and super easy payasam recipe. This dessert is suitable for all special occasions. The main ingredients of Aval Payasam are aval, milk and sugar. Aval is the malayalam word for beaten rice or rice flakes.

- Aval/poha/beaten rice/rice flakes - 1 cup
- Milk - 3 cups
- Condensed milk - 1 cup
- Sugar - 2 tbs
- Cashew nuts - 5 nos
- Raisins -10 nos
- Ghee - 3 tsp
- Cardamom - 2 nos (crushed)
- Coconut pieces - 2 tbps
Heat a pan and boil milk.
In a pan, heat 2 tsp of ghee and roast the aval for about 3 minutes until it is slightly brown.
Into the roasted aval, add boiled milk and cook for 5 minutes till the aval becomes soft.
Add sugar, condensed milk and simmer for 5 minutes. Add crushed cardamom and stir well.
In a pan, heat 1 tsp of ghee and fry the cashew nuts, coconut pieces and raisins for 2 minutes.
Finally add the fried cashew nuts, coconut pieces and raisins to the aval and mix well.
Tasty Aval Payasam is ready to be served. Enjoy!!!
