Baked Banana Oat Meal
Baked oatmeal is perfect when serving a crowd for breakfast. You can bake this the night before and reheat in the morning for an easy and impressive breakfast. Eat this baked oatmeal with banana and caramel sauce for breakfast or even for dessert.
The common oat (avena sativa) is a type of grain. Oats are eaten by people in the form of rolled oats, oatmeal, oat milk, oat bran and oat flour. Oats are considered a health food, and oat extract is used in some skincare products. Like wheat, oats are a cereal grass. Oats require processing before they can be consumed by humans. They have an extremely hard outer shell, called a hull, which must be removed. After this is removed, the resulting product is called an oat groat. The groats are treated with heat in order to keep them from spoiling, and are cut into several pieces, creating an edible product called steel-cut oats.
Steel-cut oats are flaked and steamed in order to make rolled oats; milled in order to make oat bran; and ground in order to make oat flour. Oat milk is made by soaking ground oats in water, while instant oats are made by pressing rolled oats very thin and then pre-cooking them.
Rolled oats are used to make oatmeal and are often added to baked goods and cereals.
- Oats - 1 1/2 cup
- Salt - a pinch
- Whole milk - 3 tbsp
- Vanilla essence - 1 tbsp
- Ripe banana - 2 nos (sliced 1/2 inch thick on the diagonal)
- Dark brawn sugar - 4 tbsp
- Cashew nuts - 10 nos (roasted)
- Water - 4 1/2 cup
- Sugar - 3 tsp
Take a pan add water and boil for 5 minutes. Add oats and cook for 5 minutes. Let it cool and cover and refrigerate overnight.
On the next day cook the oats in a low flame and cook until it tender about 10 minutes. Stir continously, add milk and vanilla essence. Mix well for 3 minutes. Transfer it into a bowl.
Heat a pan add dark brown sugar. This sugar will caramelized. Add bananas and cook for 4 minutes.
Take a bowl add the cooked oats and the caramelized bananas and sprinkle with roasted cashew nuts.
