Beef Biryani Recipe – ബീഫ് ബിരിയാണി

Quick & Easy Biriyani Recipe

Here comes another rice option for upcoming parties, family gatherings, EID, Christmas and New year celebrations.

Beef Biriyani can be made in various different tastes in different style. Given below is my style beef beriyani. The uniqueness is easy and tasty cooking.

Ingredients

  • Beef - 1/2 kg (cleaned & cut into pieces)
  • Ginger paste - 1 tbsp
  • Garlic paste - 1 tbsp
  • Onions - 1 big (chopped)
  • Tomato - 1 big (chopped)
  • Green Chili - 4 nos (add more as per taste)
  • Curry leaves - 10 nos
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tbsp
  • Chili powder - 1/2 tbsp
  • Coriander powder - 1 & 1/2 tbsp
  • Garam masala - 1/4 tbsp
  • Potato - 1 cup cut into big cubes
  • Water - 2 & 1/2 glass
  • Rice - 2 cup
  • Ghee - 2 tbsp
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tbsp (Coconut oil will add special flavor)
  • Salt to taste
  • For Garnishing:-
  • Onion - 1/4 cup (chopped into long pieces)
  • Cashew nut - 6 nos (optional)
  • Raisins (Unakka Munthiri) - 6 nos (optional)

Method

Step 1

Wash rice and drain. Keep it aside for some time so that the water on the rice is fully drained.

Step 2

Clean and cut beef into cubical pieces.

Step 3

In a pressure cooker mix all ingredients other than rice, oil, ghee and water.

Step 4

Rub the beef gravy with hands for 1 minute so that all the ingredients are mixed well. Then add 2 & 1/2 glass water.

Step 5

Switch on the flame and close the pressure cooker lid. Allow to cook until 2 whistle comes.

Step 6

Then switch off the fire and keep the cooker lid closed for 15 minutes so that cooker cools a little.

Step 7

Meanwhile heat a thick bottomed vessel and fry seasoning items one by one (onion followed by cashew nuts and raisins)

Step 8

Fry rice in the same vessel for 2 minutes.

Step 9

Then open the pressure cooker.

Step 10

Take cooked potato from gravy and keep aside and add cooked beef gravy to vessel which have the rice. Mix well.

Step 11

Tip: we have taken the potato from the gravy so that potatoes does not get overlooked along with rice. If over cooked potato will dissolve in the gravy.

Step 12

Close the vessel with a tight lid. In lowest flame allow the rice to cook until all the water gets evaporate.

Step 13

Add cooked potato pieces to Biriyani & mix well.

Step 14

Serve Beef Biryani to a plate and garnish with golden fried onion, cashew nuts and raisins. Enjoy!
