Carrot Halwa ( Gajar ka Halwa in Hindi ) is the most famous North Indian sweet item. Ghee and condensed milk give richness to the Halwa and it is good to serve both warm and cool. Carrot Halwa is a special sweet item during festivals like Diwali, Holi, Eid-Al-Fitr and Raksha Bhandhan.
This Halwa is a delicious recipe with the mixture of carrot and milk. It can preserved for 15 days in an airtight containers.
Carrot contains vitamins, proteins, potassium and it is good for eyes, skin and teeth. It also prevents diseases like cancer, blood clots, heart diseases, etc.

Ingredients
- Grated carrot - 2 cup
- Milk - 3/4 cup
- Condensed Milk - 5 tsp
- Sugar - 3 tsp
- Ghee - 5 tsp
- Cardamom Powder - 1/4 tsp
- Raisins - 5 nos
- Cashew Nuts - 5 nos
- Almonds - 5 nos
Heat 4 tsp of ghee in a heavy bottomed vessel, and add the grated carrot and saute for 10 minutes on low to medium flame. Add milk and allow to cook till the grated carrot become soft and milk is almost absorbed. Add sugar and cook further for another 10 minutes. Add the condensed milk and go on stirring till it leaves the sides of the pan. Add the cardamom powder and mix well. Heat 1 tsp of ghee in a pan and roast cashew nuts, raisins and almonds. Garnish with toasted almonds, raisins and cashew nuts. Yummy Carrot Halwa is ready.Method
