Jackfruit is a fruit found in many parts of Asia. It has been gaining popularity due to its delicious, sweet taste and various health benefits. However, the flesh isn’t the only part of the fruit you can eat. A single jackfruit may contain 100–500 edible and nutritious seeds. It’s seeds also provide small amounts of minerals such as zinc, iron, calcium and potassium.

Chakkakkuru curry is a spicy Kerala dish that is best served with rice during lunchtime. Almost all malayalis like chakkakkuru curry. While making this curry mango is often used for getting a sour and sweet taste. This curry and rice along with pappadam is a deadly combination.

Ingredients

  • Jackfruit seed - 25
  • Onion - 1
  • Tomato- 1
  • Dry red chilli - 2
  • Green chilli - 3
  • Oil - 2tbspn
  • Mustard - 1 tspn
  • Water
  • Salt
  • Curry leaves
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2tspn
  • Chilli powder - 2tspn
  • Mango - 1

Method

Step 1

Take a cooker and add jackfruit seed, salt , 1 onion , 1 tomato and 3 green chilli into it. Boil until 4 whistle.

Step 2

Add 1/2tspn turmeric powder,2 tspn chilli powder and 1 mango into it.

Step 3

Then cook for another 5 minutes.

Step 4

Take another pan and add 2tspn oil, mustard, dry red chillies and curry leaves.

Step 5

Mix it with the Jackfruit seed curry. Chakkakkuru curry is ready to serve.
