Chilly Cauliflower is a tasty lip-smacking dish which is loved equally by vegetarians and non-vegetarians. This spicy cauliflower dish can be easily made at home. It can also be served as a side dish for fried rice and noodles or as a party snack. Main ingredients for this recipe are cauliflower, corn flour, capsicum and chilly sauce.
Cauliflower has a delightfully fresh flavour and a satisfying crunch. One of its best nutritional aspects is its high value of vitamin C. Cauliflower is also a good source of vitamin K, protein, riboflavin, niacin, magnesium and phosphorus.
It is also a very good source of fiber, vitamin B6, potassium and manganese. Cauliflower contains Sulforaphane, a sulfur compound that has also been shown to kill Cancer stem cells, thereby slowing tumor growth.

Ingredients
- Cauliflower - 1 small
- Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tsp
- Red chilly powder - 1 tsp
- Corn flour - 5 tsp
- Green chilly - 3 nos ( slited )
- Green capsicum - 1/2 ( cut into cubes )
- Red capsicum - 1/2 ( cut into cubes )
- Onion - 2 medium ( cut into cubes )
- Soya sauce - 1 tsp
- Tomato sauce - 1 tbsp
- Red chilly sauce - 1 tsp
- Ginger - 1 small piece ( chopped )
- Garlic - 1 clove ( chopped )
- Spring onion - 1 tbsp ( chopped )
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Sugar - 1/4 tsp
- Vegetable oil - 300 ml
- Water - 6 tbsp
- Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
- Salt to taste
Method
Step 1
Cut cauliflower into small florets and clean with water.
Step 2
In a pan, boil water and add little salt and 1/2 tsp of turmeric powder. Then add cauliflower florets into this and cook for about 5 minutes. Drain the water and keep it aside.
Step 3
In a bowl, add 4 tsp of cornflour, red chilly powder, ginger-garlic paste, salt and make a thick batter by adding 4 tbsp of water. Add the drained cauliflower into this batter and marinate for 10 minutes.
Step 4
Heat vegetable oil in a pan and deep fry the marinated cauliflower till it turns golden brown and crisp. Drain the excess oil with a tissue paper.
Step 5
Heat 3 tbsp of oil in a pan and add ginger, garlic and green chilly and fry for 3 minutes.
Step 6
Add capsicum and onion into it and fry for 3 minutes.
Step 7
Add tomato sauce, chilly sauce, soy sauce, salt, pepper powder, sugar and mix well.
Step 8
Take 1 tsp of cornflour in a bowl and add 2 tbsp of water and mix well. Add this diluted cornflour to the above mixture and mix it well.
Step 9
Add all fried cauliflower pieces into this pan and mix well. Add chopped spring onion into it and switch off the flame.
Step 10
Tasty Chilly Cauliflower is ready.
