Corn Flour Halwa Recipe

CornĀ flour is a fine, powdery starch that is made out of corn. CornĀ flourĀ is usually produced by soaking whole kernels of corn and removing the germ of the corn from the bran and further breaking down each part until the starch is ultimately extracted from each.

Here, Corn Flour Halwa is prepared using microwave oven and very less ghee used unlike other halwa recipe.

Corn Flour Halwa is a delicious dessert which can be prepared by easily available ingredients. It is a special sweet used in special occasions like Diwali, Holi, Eid-Al-Fitr and Raksha Bhandhan.

Ingredients

  • Corn flour - 1/2 cup
  • Sugar - 1 and 1/2 cup
  • Water - 2 cup
  • Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Ghee - 2 tbsp
  • Food Color - few drops ( rose pink )
  • Almonds - 10 nos ( chopped )
  • Cashew nuts - 10 nos ( chopped )
  • Black raisins - 10 nos

Method

Step 1

Take a microwave suit bowl. Add the corn flour, sugar, water, cardamom, food color and mix well.

Step 2

Keep the bowl inside the microwave oven in a high mode for 15 minutes.

Step 3

Take it out after every 4 minutes and mix well, so that it does not form any lumps.

Step 4

Heat ghee in a small pan and fry chopped almonds, black raisins and cashew nuts in it.

Step 5

Pour this over the halwa and mix well.

Step 6

Grease a plate with ghee. Pour this halwa on it and shape it.

Step 7

Let it cool for 30 minutes.

Step 8

Yummy Corn Flour Halwa made in a Microwave is ready.

Step 9

Now cut into pieces and serve.
