Curd rice is a simple and delicious food item. It is also called yogurt rice or Thayir sadam in Tamil language. The word ” curd ” in India, usually refers to the unsweetened yogurt.
This rice dish can be easily prepare at home within minutes and can surprise the guests, friends and other family members. Curd rice is a perfect healthy food for the children and the grown ups. This rice is a good combination with pickle, chutney or daal.
Yogurt is highly nutritious and also a good source of protein, calcium, vitamins, etc. It will reduce the risk of diseases like high blood pressure, Colon Cancer, Diarrhea and heart diseases.

Ingredients
Clean and soak the basmati rice in water for 10 minutes and drain the excess water. Take a pressure cooker then add 2 cup of water and boil for 5 minutes. Add 1 cup of raw rice, salt and mix well. Cook it for about 10 minutes and keep aside to cool. Take a bowl then add some salt to the curd and mix well. Now add this curd to the boiled rice and stir well. Heat vegetable oil in a small pan then add mustard seeds, curry leaves and dry red chillies. Fry for a minute. Add this mix to the rice and mix well. Tasty Curd Rice is ready. Serve it with pickle.Method
