Egg Roast – Kerala Style Naadan Egg Recipe – മുട്ട റോസ്റ്റ്
Kerala Egg Roast is a very popular dish that is usually served with Appam or Idiyappam. Spicy and delicious Egg Roast is prepared in a yummy onion and tomato based gravy. It only requires some basic ingredients and can be prepared very quickly and easily at your home.
Eggs are among the most nutritious foods on the planet. Eggs are an excellent source of protein and contain all the daily vitamins and minerals that are needed to produce energy. The whites are rich sources of vitamin D, B6, B12 and minerals such as selenium, iron, zinc and copper.
- Egg - 3 nos ( boiled )
- Onion - 2 nos ( sliced )
- Green Chilly - 3 nos ( slit lengthwise )
- Ginger - 1 small piece ( chopped )
- Garlic - 3 cloves ( chopped )
- Tomato - 1 no ( sliced )
- Red Chilly Powder - 1 tsp
- Coriander Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Garam Masala - 1/4 tsp
- Water - 1/2 cup
- Coconut Oil - 3 tbsp
- Curry Leaves - 1 sprig
- Salt to taste
Heat coconut oil in a pan.
Add chopped ginger and garlic into it and saute for 3 minutes on a low flame.
Then add onion, curry leaves and green chilly into it. Saute the onion till it turns to translucent.
Add red chilly powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt into it. Saute it for 2 minutes.
Then add chopped tomatoes into it and saute till the tomatoes are smashed well. Add 1/2 cup of water to it and cook for another 3 minutes. When the gravy gets thick, add boiled eggs into it. Cover it with a lid and cook for 3 minutes on a low flame.
Open the lid and add garam masala and mix well. Switch off the flame.
Tasty Egg Roast is ready.
