Ingredients
- Kappa / Tapioca - 1/2 kg
- Onion - 2 nos ( chopped )
- Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
- Green Chilly - 4 nos ( chopped )
- Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
- Kashmiri Chilly Powder - 1/2 tsp
- Mustard Seeds - 1/4 tsp
- Garam Masala - 1 pinch
- Egg - 1 no
- Bread Crumbs - 1/4 cup
- Coriander Leaves - 1 strig ( chopped )
- Curry Leaves - 1 strig ( chopped )
- Water - 4 cups
- Coconut Oil - 1 cup
- Salt to taste
Method
Step 1
Peel the skin of kappa ( Tapioca ) and cut into small pieces and clean with water.
Step 2
Heat a pressure cooker and add kappa, water and turmeric powder and cook for 10 minutes. When it becomes tender, add salt. Drain the water and keep it aside. Then with the back side of a spoon or fork mash the cooked tapioca.
Step 3
Now heat 4 tbsp of oil in a non stick pan and splutter mustard seeds. Then add ginger garlic paste into it and saute until the raw smell goes.
Step 4
Then add finely chopped onion, green chilly, coriander leaves and curry leaves into it and saute until the onion become golden brown in colour.
Step 5
Now add turmeric powder, kashmiri red chilly powder, garam masala and salt into it and mix well for few seconds.
Step 6
Add the mashed tapioca to this masala and mix well. Check the salt and add if needed.
Step 7
After cooling this mixture, take small portions and roll it into round shape.
Step 8
Beat egg well with a spoon and keep it in a small bowl. Put bread crumbs in a plate and keep aside.
Step 9
Dip each tapioca cutlet into the egg and then roll it in the bread crumbs. Do the same procedure with rest of the tapioca mixture.
Step 10
Heat coconut oil in pan and fry the cutlets by turning both sides. Drain the excess oil with a tissue paper.
Step 11
Tasty Tapioca Cutlet is ready.
