Kerala Fish Fry is mouth watering spicy dish. Chemballi fish fry ( ചെമ്പല്ലി പൊരിച്ചത്  ) is one of the special fish fry item among Keralites. Chemballi fish is known as Northern Red Snapper in English.

In our busy schedule of work from office, it’s really a challenge for house wife’s to make the family happy with a very good dinner.

Chemballi Fish Fry ( ചെമ്പല്ലി മീൻ പൊരിച്ചത് )

But trust me, it’s not a very big deal if you like cooking. Here is my easy fish fry recipe which can be ready within 20 minutes (considering that you get the fish cleaned from a supermarket!)

Ingredients

  • Chempalli Meen ( ചെമ്പല്ലി മീൻ Red Snapper ) - 1/2 kg ( cleaned & cut into thin pieces )
  • Kashmiri Chilli powder - 2 tbsp
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tbsp
  • Rice powder - 1/4 tbsp
  • Coconut oil - 1/2 tbsp
  • Curry leaves - 20 nos
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup oil for frying

Method

Step 1

Make fine paste of all the ingredients and apply on the Fish. Marinate for 1/2 an hour.

Step 2

Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the Fish along with curry leaves to get a nice flavour and smell.

Step 3

Your spicy, tasty and easy Fish fry is ready to serve hot with rice and variety of breads!!!!
