Koova Kaachiyathu / Arrowroot Milk is an energy drink for children because of its soft and easily digestible qualities. It contains several vitamins, minerals and electrolytes that creates a healthy balance in stomach. It cures Urinary Infection in children.

Koova is called as Arrow Root in English. It is mostly used in Kerala as a health drink. Arrowroot powder do not have a flavour on their own, so it can be added to other food ingredients to make a complete wonderful meal.

Ingredients

  • Koova Podi ( Arrowroot powder ) - 3 tbsp
  • Milk - 200 ml
  • Sugar - 4 tsp
  • Cardamom powder - a pinch
  • Raisins - 5 nos
  • Cashew nuts - 5 nos
  • Ghee - 1 tsp

Method

Step 1

Take a bowl and add arrowroot powder and milk. Boil on a medium heat stirring continuously. When it becomes thick, add sugar and cardamom powder into it and mix well. Switch off the flame.

Step 2

Heat ghee in a pan and add cashew nuts and raisins and fry for 2 minutes. Pour this into the arrowroot milk.

Step 3

Take a glass and pour arrowroot milk into it and serve chilled. Garnish with some cashew nuts and raisins.

Step 4

Tasty Koova Kaachiyathu is ready.
