Paneer Matar Masala or Green Peas with Paneer Curry or Mutter Paneer is a North Indian curry made with mutter (peas) and paneer (cottage cheese).

Paneer Matar Masala is a spicy and delicious dish that goes well with steamed basmati rice or chapathi.

Ingredients

  • Green peas - 250 grams
  • Paneer - 150 grams
  • Big onion - 4 (chopped)
  • Tomato - 3 (chopped)
  • Ginger paste - 1/2 tbsp
  • Garlic paste - 1/2 tbsp
  • Green Chilli - 3 nos
  • Tomato Sauce - 2 tbsp
  • Soya sauce - 1 tbsp
  • Red Chilli powder - 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tbsp
  • Oil - 4 tbsp
  • Butter & coriander leaves for garnishing

Method

Step 1

Heat oil in a pan.

Step 2

Saute items in given order - ginger garlic paste followed by onion, tomato and green chilli.

Step 3

Then add tomato sauce and soya sauce to the sauteed gravy. Allow to cook in low flame for 1 more minute.

Step 4

Meantime cook green peas with salt in little water.

Step 5

Add cooked green peas along with paneer to the gravy. Add 4 spoons of water and mix the gravy well with green peas and paneer.

Step 6

Once gravy thicken, add curry leaves and switch of the flame.

Step 7

Garnish with butter and coriander leaves. Serve hot with steamed basmati rice or chapathi.
