Pazham pori is ripe banana dipped in maida and fried in oil. Pazham pori is an easy to make nutritious snack. They are also very tasty and kid’s favorite snack too.
The traditional Deep Fried Plantain is known by several names like Ethakka Appam, Ethakka boli, Ethakka Baji, Pazham Pori, Vazhakka appam, Ripe Banana Fritters, Banana Fry.

Ingredients
- Ethakka (Ripe plantains / Ripe banana) - 3 nos
- All purpose flour (Maida) - 1 cup
- Rice flour - 2 tbsp
- Sugar - 1 tbsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Salt - a pinch
- Water - 1/2 cup
- Coconut oil - 2 cup
Method
Step 1
Peel the plantain and then cut the plantains horizontally into two halves.
Step 2
Take a bowl mix all purpose flour, rice flour, turmeric powder, sugar, salt and then mix it nicely by adding enough water to get a thick batter with a dropping consistency.
Step 3
Heat coconut oil in a pan. Dip the plantain slices in the batter one by one and coat it well.
Step 4
Deep fry it in coconut oil for about 5 minutes or till both sides become light golden colour. Drain oil in a paper towel.
Step 5
Hot & Tasty Pazham Pori is ready to be served along with a cup of tea. Enjoy!!!
