Pineapple halwa is a popular Indian sweet item. There are many varieties in halwa such as carrot halwa, pista halwa, almond halwa, etc.

This halwa is prepared by using pineapple pulp, corn starch,  ghee and nuts. It is soft and lightly sweetened halwa This sweet can serve in special occasions like birthdays, wedding party, festivals like Diwali, Eid, etc.
This halwa can have during teatime or used as a nalumani palaharam. It is very easy to make within minutes.

Pineapple halwa recipe | പൈനാപ്പിൾ ഹൽവ recipe

Ingredients

  • Pineapple - 1 number
  • Milk - 1 glass
  • Water - 1/2 cup
  • Sugar - 1/2 cup
  • Ghee - 4 tsp
  • Water - 1 cup
  • Fried cashew nuts - 5 nos
  • Yellow food colour - a pinch
  • Corn flour - 1/2 cup
  • Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp

Method

Step 1

Clean and chop the pineapple and grind them into paste and keep aside. Take a bowl and add corn flour with 1/2 cup of water.

Step 2

Heat a pan and add 1/2 cup water and allow it to boil. Then add pineapple paste, yellow food colour, cornflour mix and cook for 5 minutes or till the water evaporates.

Step 3

Add 1 glass of milk into this pan and stir well. Add sugar and stir continuously in a medium heat.

Step 4

Then add 4 tsp ghee, cardamom powder & fried cashew nuts and cook till the ghee separates.

Step 5

Grease a plate with ghee and pour into a plate and let it cool down. Cut into pieces.

Step 6

Tasty pineapple halwa is ready.
