Poricha maida pathiri or Thattukada Pathiriย is very delicious snack. It can be served with beef or mutton curry.

There are many types of pathiris, but this pathiri is deep fried in oil and it is more tasty. Main ingredients of this recipe are maida, shallots and fennel seeds.

Ingredients

  • Maida - 1 cup
  • Fennel seeds - 2 tbsp
  • Shallots - 10 nos
  • Water - 1 1/2 cups
  • Coconut oil - 3 cup
  • Salt to taste

Method

Step 1

Heat water in a pan by adding salt to it, when it boils, add maida and simmer the flame and stir well for 2 minutes. Switch off the flame.

Step 2

When it cools, add fennel seeds and chopped shallots.

Step 3

Knead it to very smooth dough. Roll the prepared dough into a thick big pathiri. Cut out many small round pathiris from this using a lid or glass with sharp edge.

Step 4

Heat oil in a pan and deep fry these small pathiris in low flame till it turns slight brown colour.

Step 5

Serve hot with chicken curry or any other meat curry of your choice.
