Radish Thoran – Kerala Style Recipe – റാടിഷ് തോരൻ
Radish Thoran – റാടിഷ് തോരൻ is a simple yet delicious Kerala style side dish. It is very easy to prepare and goes well with Rice.
Radishes are detoxifiers and are rich in vitamin C, folic and anthocyanins. Hence it is very effective in treating many types of Cancer like Kidney, Colon, Stomach, Intestinal and Oral Cancer.
Radish is extremely useful in treating Jaundice because it removes Bilirubin and also keeps its production at a stable level. It has anti congestive properties that make them beneficial for asthmatic patients.
- Radish - 1 no
- Red Chilly Powder - 1/4 tsp
- Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
- Grated Coconut - 1/2 cup
- Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
- Dry Red Chilly - 3 nos
- Shallots - 4 nos
- Curry Leaves - 1 string
- Coconut Oil - 4 tbsp
- Salt to taste
Wash, peel and grate radish.
Coarsely grind the grated coconut with dry red chilly, shallots, turmeric powder and red chilly powder.
Heat 4 tsp of coconut oil in a pan and add mustard seeds and curry leaves. Saute it for 2 minutes.
Add ground coconut mixture into it and saute for another 2 minutes. Then add grated radish into it and mix well. Cover and cook on a low flame for 5 minutes.
Open the lid and stir until it is dry. Switch off the flame.
Tasty Radish Thoran is ready.
