Tomato Rasam easy recipe

Rasam is a very common item in south Indian meals. Rasam can be made with tamarind pulp, tomatoes, lemon and other spices. Rasam has very good digestive values. This Rasam recipe is very easy to make. Try it!!!

Ingredients

  • Sliced Tomatoes - 3 nos
  • Red chilly powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Black Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Cuminpowder - 1/4 tsp
  • Fenugreek powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Asafoetida powder - 1/4tsp
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Crushed Garlic - 5
  • Chopped Green chilly - 3
  • Tamarind paste - 1 tsp
  • Dry red chillies - 2 nos
  • Curry leaves - 4 twigs
  • Chopped coriander leaves - 1/2 cup
  • Mustard seed - 1/4 tsp
  • Coconut oil - 2 tbspn
  • Water - 2 cup
  • Salt to taste

Method

Step 1

Heat oil in a pan add mustard seed, red chilly and garlic.

Step 2

Add crushed green chillies, black pepper powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, fenugreek powder, cumin powder, asafoetida powder and fry for two minutes.

Step 3

Add chopped tomatoes, water, tamarind paste and salt. Boil for 5 minutes.

Step 4

Finally add coriander leaves and curry leaves. Dish is ready to served.
